More than Just a Sport by Jorge Cortez Arvizu
Countless Americans who enjoy soccer, including myself, visualize it as
a hobby, source of entertainment, or just a sport. In other parts of the world,
however, soccer affects the way in which people live their daily lives. How Soccer Explains the World by
Franklin Foer is a non-fiction novel about globalization. In his book, Foer
travels to various portions of the world, where soccer is a way of life, and argues
that this universal sport can be a potential cause of change in religion,
politics, and economics. Overall, I would give this book four out of five stars
because Foer does an amazing job of constructing a whole new perspective on
soccer. This well written book will honestly change the way in which you view
soccer. I would highly recommend this book to those who enjoy soccer
